Electro - Magnetic Lock
This is my electronic project. My partner Kavin, and I tried to create a electronically powered magnet and use this to keep our locker doors locked. The nail is in the coil of orange wire attached to locker door (the blue dotted surface). The magnet is taped to the side of actual locker space and it attracts the nail. We initially intended to insert a switch but we ran out of time. The nail worked and the magnet worked, but we couldn't coordinate them properly. Additionally, the magnetic field wasn't strong enough was resist a human tugging on the door. We didn't have the correct resources to make it that strong and we probably couldn't in any case. However, it wasn't actually that bad and we got it to work for a tiny bit.
